What are placeholders?
Placeholders are temporary markers used in your templates to dynamically insert information like names, dates, and more. In our context, placeholders are primarily used in email templates but can be employed elsewhere as needed, for example, in the booking form, SMS templates or to customize Google Calendar and iCalendar event descriptions. Here’s how to use them.
How to use placeholders?
When preparing the email notification text , you have the power to include dynamic information that adapts to the specific context or recipient. This means you can effortlessly incorporate details like the customer’s name, booking date, time, and more. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of available placeholders.
Let’s imagine you run a salon, and a customer named Sarah has just booked an appointment. Instead of sending a generic confirmation email, you want to make it personal and informative. Here’s how you can use placeholders effectively:
Dear #customer_name,
We’re excited to confirm your booking of #service_name with us!
Here are the details:
- Appointment Date: #appointment_day
- Appointment Time: #appointment_time
We look forward to giving you a fantastic haircut experience!
Warm regards,
The [Your Salon Name] Team
When Sarah receives this email, the placeholders #customer_name, #service_name, #appointment_day, and #appointment_time will automatically fill in her name, booking date, and time, creating a personalized confirmation message.
